Ordering hand made rocking chair runners is easier than you think.

Many times customers have asked if I had any runners for sale that fit existing chairs. After all, it's hard to give up that cherished heirloom from grandma's house, even though the runners are worn out from years of use.

If you're in this situation, I have the solution for you!

Below is a description of each runner type I offer, along with the delivered-to-your-door price (Kentucky residents add 6% sales tax to your order).  Examine each category and decide which pair of runners you want for your existing rocker.  

You can add recurved tips to any style for an additional $ 40.00.

• BASIC:    Solid wood of the matching species to the original; cut out, sanded, and ready for your drilling and finishing. Total price, shipping included: $150.00 per pair.

• STANDARD:    Solid wood of your choice, cut out, sanded, ready for your leg screws, and finished with 2 coats of a natural Danish oil or satin polyurethane.  Total price, shipping included: $190.00 per pair. 

• DELUXE:    5-layer laminated, single wood species, plus all the standard features.  Total price, shipping included: $370.00 per pair.

• SUPER DELUXE:    All the features of the deluxe runners (minus the finish), plus your option of 1 accent wood strip.  The super deluxe runners come with rectangular 5-layer mounting blocks that have an accent strip in the middle.  The mounting blocks are glued to the runners and can be shaped with your tools to create a rounded transition zone from the chair leg to the runner. (Look at any hand made rocking chair throughout the website to see runner blocks that have been shaped into beautiful transition pieces.)  Total price, shipping included: $450.00 per pair.

When you've made up your mind, follow these three steps:

1) Fill out the rocking chair runners for sale form located below. print out a copy for yourself and press the submit button.   

2) Create a full sized paper tracing of the existing runner to be sent to my shop.  Or, prepare the actual runner(s) it/themselves for shipping. 

3) Mail the runner tracing (or the runners themselves), and a check for the total amount (plus applicable sales tax) made out to Classic Woodworking.

Be sure to include the thickness of the runner if you will be sending a paper tracing!

Estimated turnaround time for hand made rocking chair runners is 2 to 4 weeks depending on the work load at the time.  I will contact you to let you know when they will be ready.

Finally, if there are any special circumstances (e.g. replacement runners that are made from very rare or expensive woods, have elaborate detailing, etc.) please call or e-mail me and we can talk about the options.
